As August Ends... (Aug. 28, 2017)

Hello everyone!

I hope you have all had a great week wherever you were. And, Brooklynn, I'm glad you, Jonsie, and Andrew are safe from the hurricane that came through your town. Continue to be safe. This week went by in a blur. I'm not quite sure what happened...but, I will do my best to remember 🤔

Wednesday was a pretty full day. We started by volunteering at the city hospital. The four of us (sisters included) spent most of the time wiping down pamphlet stands and wheelchairs for a couple of hours. It was Sister Eaton's birthday so the hospital staff bought us drinks and treats during a half-hour break they let us have. So nice! It was fun and we got to meet the head neuro-sergeon which was cool. Those guys are beast!

Hen we had a lunch appointment with one of our members. We went to a 定食 restaurant, which has classic Japanese dishes. I had some Salmon sashimi! So good! It was still Sister Eaton's birthday so we asked the staff to do something special for her but they weren't able to. Ah well. One of our members has a 1985 Chevy Suburban with a custom matte-black paint job. She is basically American.

Then we had some study time before another appointment with a family in our branch. They live way out in the countryside so they gave us a ride to their home. The son just got off his mission from Sapporo, Japan, two months ago. His English is SO FLUENT. It is very weird how good his English is. I don't slow down, dumb down, or change my speaking in any way and he understands, communicates, and speaks PERFECTLY. Anyways. We were able to meet his sister who doesn't come to church all that often. It was way fun to be with them. They may or may not have gone to CostCo in Hiroshima and gotten a ton of food which was readily consumed by four missionaries...very good.

We had zone conference! We talked a lot about referrals, service opportunities, and finding through our own efforts. We need to be able to help our members feel joy from the gospel so that they can be better able to share the gospel from their hearts. Lots of fun!

We had a sports activity as well. Once a month our branch puts on a sports night at the local sports center. We rented out a portion for two hours. We had at least 20 people show up. The turn out was so good!! Played basketball and badminton for dayz! So much sweat! It was very fun though.

Well. That was pretty much the week. We are working hard out here in Marugame. Doing my best to leave it all on the table. Don't have too long left...#wholeheart

Love you guys. Have an awesome week!
